In Oman, the Ministry of Health's Drug Safety Center does it all: it registers companies and products, sets prices and monitors GMP. Its published service time for a product registration is up to 360 working days, so plan well ahead.
Oman is also practical about access. The Drug Safety Center issues permits to import unregistered medicines for the private market and government hospitals, including for named patients.

How to supply medicines to Oman
- Appoint a licensed importer. An Omani company with a commercial registration, a pharmaceutical warehouse licence and a registered commercial agency for your products.
- Register the company and product. A CTD dossier in the Gulf Health Council format, with a CoPP and the plant's GMP evidence.
- Consider Gulf-wide registration. The Gulf Health Council can register the manufacturing company and the product centrally for all six GCC states. Each country then issues its own certificate and sets the price, and GHC registration is also the entry ticket to the Gulf joint procurement tenders.
- Supply. Private pharmacies and hospitals through your importer, or Ministry of Health supply. Prices are fixed at landed cost plus a set margin.
The Drug Safety Center issues permits to import unregistered medicines for the private market and government hospitals, including for named patients, and a law firm notes that unregistered products may even be accepted in public tenders if the price is better. See named-patient and special import and government tender supply.
Supplements
Supplements must be registered with the Ministry of Health before sale. Health, nutrient-content and structure/function claims are allowed, and steroids are prohibited. We help brands get supplements made under their own label by GMP-certified contract manufacturers: see nutraceutical private label.
What people in Oman search for
Semrush data from October 2026 shows that people in Oman search for supplements mainly in Arabic: “كولاجين” (collagen) and “فيتامين سي” (vitamin C) get about 3,600 searches a month each, “فيتامين د” (vitamin D) 2,400 and “بروتين” (protein) 1,600, with English “vitamin d” at 1,600.
Google Keyword Planner confirms the Arabic lead: “صيدلية” (pharmacy) gets between 10,000 and 100,000 searches a month, and “بروتين” (protein), “فيتامين د” (vitamin D) and “كولاجين” (collagen) between 1,000 and 10,000 each (October 2026). Medicines are searched by generic name in English, such as “atorvastatin” and “amlodipine” (Semrush).
How importers and distributors in Oman search
“pharmaceutical companies in oman” gets between 100 and 1,000 searches a month (Google Keyword Planner). Arabic trade phrases such as “شركات الادوية في عمان” (pharmaceutical companies in Oman) and “مستودع ادوية” (medicine warehouse) register only weakly.
Originator brands searched by name include Brufen (ibuprofen), Tryptizol (amitriptyline), Cataflam (diclofenac) and Cipralex (escitalopram). Brand names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the medicine.
