Supplying Medicines and Supplements to Cambodia

A practical guide for Cambodian importers, pharmacies and hospital buyers who source from abroad, and for manufacturers and exporters worldwide selling into Cambodia.

Cambodia is an import-led market with practical fast routes. A Cambodian pharmaceutical company applies to the Department of Drugs and Food (DDF) through its online system, using a CTD or ACTD dossier with a home-country GMP certificate.

DDF guidance describes an abridged route for products approved by PIC/S members and a verification route for products approved by the FDA, EMA, TGA, Health Canada, Medsafe, Japan or WHO, which makes Cambodia a practical entry point in the region.

How to supply medicines to Cambodia

  1. Appoint a Cambodian pharmaceutical company. It files the registration online with the DDF and holds it for you.
  2. Prepare the dossier. A CTD or ACTD dossier with a CoPP and a home-country GMP certificate.
  3. Use a fast route if you can. The abridged route for products approved by PIC/S members, or verification for products approved by the FDA, EMA, TGA, Health Canada, Medsafe, Japan or WHO.
  4. Supply. Get an import permit for each shipment. Private pharmacies buy year-round; the Ministry of Health buys once a year from the essential medicines list.

For a medicine not registered in Cambodia, ask your local company whether a special import is possible for your case. See named-patient and special import and government tender supply.

Supplements

Health supplements are registered with the DDF through CamPORS, the online registration system, with a free sale certificate, GMP or ISO certificates, the formula, a certificate of analysis and stability data. We help brands get supplements made under their own label by GMP-certified contract manufacturers: see nutraceutical private label.

What people in Cambodia search for

Semrush data from October 2026 shows that people in Cambodia search in English: vitamin C gets about 2,400 searches a month, collagen 1,600, and vitamin D, vitamin E and protein 1,300 each.

Medicines are searched by their English generic names, such as “metronidazole” (about 980 a month), “cetirizine” (880) and “amlodipine” (730) (Semrush). Google Keyword Planner puts “amoxicillin”, “paracetamol”, “metronidazole”, “cetirizine”, “vitamin c” and “collagen” each between 1,000 and 10,000 searches a month; the Khmer-script terms we tested showed no measurable search (October 2026).

How importers and pharmacies in Cambodia search

“pharmacy in phnom penh” gets between 100 and 1,000 searches a month (Google Keyword Planner), while trade phrases such as “pharmaceutical companies in cambodia” and “ddf cambodia” register only weakly.

Originator brands searched by name include Spasfon (phloroglucinol), Daflon (diosmin and hesperidin), Nexium (esomeprazole), Zyrtec (cetirizine) and Celebrex (celecoxib). Brand names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the medicine.
