Supplying Medicines and Supplements to Morocco

A practical guide for Moroccan pharmaceutical establishments, distributors and hospital buyers who source from abroad, and for manufacturers and exporters worldwide selling into Morocco.

Morocco has a new regulator, AMMPS, operational since 2025, and new pricing rules from July 2026. Only a Moroccan industrial pharmaceutical establishment can hold a marketing authorisation or import medicines.

Expect margin pressure on imports: under the 2026 decree, products above MAD 300 ex-factory take the lowest reference-country price, the import mark-up falls from 10% to 2.5%, and all products are to be re-priced within 12 months.

How to supply medicines to Morocco

  1. Find a Moroccan partner. A Moroccan industrial pharmaceutical establishment holds the authorisation and imports the product.
  2. Prepare the dossier. A CTD dossier with a CoPP and the plant's GMP evidence.
  3. Plan the price. Work out your price under the 2026 decree before you file, especially for products above MAD 300 ex-factory.
  4. Supply. Pharmacies through the local establishment's distribution, or Ministry of Health tenders through a commercial company.

AMMPS grants named-patient, hospital-use and shortage authorisations for unregistered products, decided in 30 days, or seven if urgent. See named-patient and special import and government tender supply.

Supplements

Food supplements are regulated by ONSSA, Morocco's food safety office, separately from medicines. We help brands get supplements made under their own label by GMP-certified contract manufacturers: see nutraceutical private label.

What people in Morocco search for

Semrush data from October 2026 shows strong supplement demand, mostly in French: magnesium (about 12,100 searches a month), vitamin D, creatine and omega-3 (about 9,900 each), ashwagandha and magnesium glycinate (8,100), then vitamin C, B12 and probiotics.

Supplements we can help you make

Among medicines, omeprazole, fluoxetine, diclofenac and co-trimoxazole are searched often, and imports are strongest in specialised products. Some examples we list:
