Product Description:

Ornidazole is a 5-nitroimidazole antimicrobial, in the same family as metronidazole and tinidazole. Inside anaerobic bacteria and protozoa its nitro group is reduced to reactive products that break microbial DNA, so it only works against organisms that thrive without oxygen. Its half-life is longer than metronidazole's, so fewer daily doses are needed. It is used for intestinal and hepatic amoebiasis, giardiasis and trichomoniasis, and for anaerobic infections and their prevention around colorectal and gynaecological surgery.
