Product Description:

Rumalaya is a topical Ayurvedic preparation supplied as a gel and as a massage oil, combining Boswellia serrata, Vitex negundo, mentholated camphor and related botanicals. Its perceptible effect comes from counter-irritation: menthol and camphor produce a cooling then warming sensation on the skin that alters local pain signalling, while massage itself increases blood flow to the area. Boswellic acids have been studied for anti-inflammatory activity.

It is applied to the skin over painful muscles and joints and massaged in, typically two or three times daily. Topical products of this kind are used for the everyday aches associated with exertion, stiffness and minor strain. They are applied to intact skin only, kept away from the eyes and mucous membranes, and discontinued if irritation develops. Persistent joint pain, swelling or restricted movement warrants medical assessment rather than continued self-treatment.
