This tablet combines rosehip extract, Boswellia serrata extract, devil's claw extract, glucosamine sulphate and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), and is marketed for joint comfort. Rosehip powder contains a galactolipid with anti-inflammatory activity in laboratory studies. Boswellic acids inhibit 5-lipoxygenase. Devil's claw contains harpagoside. Glucosamine is a building block of cartilage. MSM is a sulphur compound proposed to support connective tissue.

Each ingredient has small trials suggesting modest reductions in osteoarthritis pain, but the evidence is of limited quality and independent trials of glucosamine have often been negative. Devil's claw can cause gastrointestinal upset and should be avoided with peptic ulcer; it may also interact with anticoagulants and diabetes medicines. Glucosamine is often derived from shellfish and can raise INR with warfarin. People with osteoarthritis benefit most from exercise, weight management and established analgesics, with supplements as an optional addition.

Sourcing notes. Buyers should specify the dose of each component when enquiring. Botanical extracts need identity and standardisation specifications, such as harpagoside and boswellic acid content. Glucosamine sulphate is a medicine in parts of Europe, so classification depends on dose and market, and shellfish origin must be declared for allergen labelling.
