Injection is a combination medication containing docaravimab and miromavimab. It is indicated for post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent rabies infection in people who are exposed to the virus. It is given in combination with the rabies vaccine. Rabies is a viral disease which causes inflammation of the brain. It can spread to pets and people if they are bitten or scratched by a virus carrying animals such as dogs, bats, etc. Even though it is a fatal disease, it is preventable.

Product Description:
Docaravimab and miromavimab are two monoclonal antibodies against the rabies virus glycoprotein, supplied together as a cocktail. They are not a vaccine: they provide passive immunisation, supplying ready-made neutralising antibody that binds virus at the bite site immediately, while the rabies vaccine given alongside takes one to two weeks to generate the patient's own antibody. That gap is the critical window, because once rabies reaches the nervous system it is essentially always fatal.
The cocktail is infiltrated into and around the wound as part of post-exposure prophylaxis for category III exposures, together with a full vaccine course. Two antibodies binding different epitopes are used rather than one, to cover viral variants and reduce the risk of escape. The product replaces human or equine rabies immunoglobulin, which depends on plasma donation, is in chronic short supply across Asia and Africa, and carries the risks of a blood-derived product.
Sourcing notes. This is a biologic requiring cold chain, and it sits with immunoglobulins rather than vaccines. Its commercial case is supply security and consistency against immunoglobulin shortage. Post-exposure prophylaxis is an emergency use, so availability at short notice in the right places is what determines whether it gets used.
