Shilajit Manufacturer: Private Label Resin, Capsules and Gummies
Shilajit has gone from a traditional Ayurvedic ingredient to one of the most talked-about supplements online. It also needs more careful testing than most. We help brands find a shilajit manufacturer that purifies and tests every batch, and get it packed under their own label.
Purification and testing come first
Shilajit is a dark, sticky resin that seeps from rock in high mountain ranges such as the Himalayas and the Altai. It's rich in fulvic acid and minerals, and it has been used in Ayurveda for centuries, where it's called shilajatu. In Central Asia and Russia the same material is known as mumijo.
Raw shilajit is never sold as it comes off the mountain. It has to be dissolved, filtered and dried, and because it comes from rock, it can carry heavy metals. So the two things to ask any manufacturer about are their purification process and their batch results for lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury.
The rules depend on the market. In the EU, shilajit (mumijo) is not treated as a novel food when it's used in food supplements, but it is when it's added to other foods, so a shilajit drink or snack needs novel food authorisation first. In the US it's sold as a dietary supplement, and in India it's also an Ayurvedic ingredient with its own rules.

What to check before you order
Heavy metals
Lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury for every batch, measured by ICP-MS at an accredited lab. For shilajit, this is the test that matters most.
Purification
How the raw material is cleaned: dissolving, filtering and drying. Ask the plant to walk you through each step and show the records.
Fulvic acid
Fulvic acid content and the test method. Results vary a lot with the method, so compare suppliers on the same one.
Identity
Proof that it's genuine shilajit and not fulvic acid powder with fillers. Fingerprint tests such as FTIR help.
Microbiology
Total plate count, yeast and mould, and pathogens such as E. coli and Salmonella.
Your market
EU novel food rules for anything other than supplements, Ayurvedic rules in India, and the claims each market allows.
Formats we can arrange
| Format | Good for | Things to decide |
|---|---|---|
| Purified resin in jars | Premium and traditional products | Jar size, measuring spoon, grams per serving |
| Capsules | An easy daily dose | Extract or powder, mg per capsule, vegetarian shell |
| Gummies | A newer, convenient format | Shilajit per gummy, taste masking |
| Drops | Customers who don't like the taste of resin | Concentration, dose per dropper |
Resin is sticky and softens in heat. Ask about the jar, the closure and how the product behaves in hot weather.
How it works with PharmaTradz
You send the product, format, strength per serving, market, pack and the quantity you have in mind.
Two or three GMP-certified plants that already make that format, with their licences, certifications and export history. Names under a confidential disclosure agreement once the requirement is firm.
We agree the form, the purification standard and the specification, and you receive samples with their heavy-metal and fulvic acid results.
Your brand and artwork, checked against the rules of the market you sell in: label format, permitted ingredients and levels, and the claims you are allowed to make.
Batch made with a Certificate of Analysis, and third-party test reports where your market or your retailer asks for them.
Same plant, same formula and same specifications, scheduled to your sales.
Problems we see most often
Heavy metals above limits
Poorly purified shilajit can carry lead or arsenic. Never order without batch results from an independent lab.
Fake or blended shilajit
Some products are mostly fulvic acid powder or fillers. Identity testing catches this.
Wrong format for the market
In the EU, shilajit in anything other than a food supplement needs novel food authorisation. Settle the format before you design the pack.
