Product Description:

This sunscreen gel combines octocrylene, an organic ultraviolet filter, with zinc oxide, a mineral filter, and phenyltrimethicone, a silicone that improves spreading and water resistance. The two filter types work differently: organic filters absorb ultraviolet energy and dissipate it as heat, while zinc oxide scatters and absorbs across both UVB and UVA. Combining them broadens protection, and octocrylene also stabilises other organic filters that degrade in sunlight.

Sunscreen is the most evidence-supported skincare product there is: regular use reduces sunburn, photoageing, actinic keratoses and squamous cell carcinoma. What determines real-world protection is not the SPF number but how much is applied and how often it is reapplied — most people apply a quarter to half the amount used in testing, which reduces the protection they actually get by far more than the difference between SPF 30 and 50. A gel base suits oily and acne-prone skin and hot climates.

Sourcing notes. Regulatory classification differs fundamentally by market: a sunscreen is a cosmetic in the EU and most of Asia, but an OTC DRUG in the United States, with permitted filters, testing and labelling set by monograph. Permitted filters and maximum concentrations differ between regions, so one formula rarely serves all markets.
