Product Description:
Iron isomaltoside consists of iron and a carbohydrate moiety where the iron is tightly bound in a matrix structure.
Iron(III) Isomaltoside is used to treat iron-deficiency anaemia in patients who cannot tolerate oral iron or require rapid replenishment of iron stores. It helps restore haemoglobin levels and improves symptoms caused by low iron.
It is made from a stable iron–carbohydrate complex containing ferric iron bound to an isomaltoside polymer, which allows controlled and safe release of iron in the body.
The main trade name is Monofer in many international markets.
It is manufactured by Pharmacosmos.
