Product Description:

Famotidine is a histamine H2-receptor antagonist that reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces. The injection is used in hospital for patients who cannot take oral medicine, in conditions such as active duodenal or gastric ulcer, hypersecretory states such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. It is usually supplied as a 10 mg/mL solution in 2 mL single-dose vials (20 mg) and in larger multi-dose vials, and in some markets as a premixed infusion bag. Famotidine was discovered by Yamanouchi (now Astellas) and sold by Merck as Pepcid; it is now widely available as a generic.
