Product Description:
Thuja occidentalis, commonly known as northern white cedar, eastern white cedar, or arborvitae, is an evergreen coniferous tree belonging to the cypress family Cupressaceae. It is native to eastern Canada and large parts of the north-central and northeastern United States. The tree is well known for its dense green foliage, aromatic wood, and strong adaptability to different climates. Because of its attractive appearance and resilience, Thuja occidentalis is widely cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens, parks, and landscapes.
Historically, this plant has also been valued in traditional herbal and homeopathic preparations. Various parts of the tree, particularly the leaves and young twigs, have been used in natural remedies and botanical applications. In addition to its medicinal and ornamental importance, Thuja occidentalis plays a role in ecological landscapes by providing shelter for wildlife and contributing to green cover in colder regions.
It is important not to confuse Thuja occidentalis with eastern red cedar, which belongs to a different species. Despite the similar common names, they are botanically distinct plants with different characteristics and uses.
