Neuropathic pain is often severe, persistent, and challenging to manage with conventional therapies, significantly impacting patients’ quality of life. This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a fixed-dose combination of sustained-release pregabalin and methylcobalamin in the management of neuropathic pain among Indian patients in real-world clinical settings.
Pregabalin, an anticonvulsant, works by modulating calcium channel activity to reduce abnormal nerve signaling, thereby decreasing pain transmission. Methylcobalamin, an active form of vitamin B12, supports nerve regeneration and repair, addressing the underlying cause of neuropathy. The sustained-release formulation of pregabalin ensures prolonged therapeutic action, improving patient compliance and maintaining consistent pain control.
The study findings demonstrated that this combination provides significant relief from neuropathic pain while being well tolerated by patients. In addition to reducing pain intensity, patients also experienced improvement in associated symptoms such as tingling, numbness, and sleep disturbances. Overall, the combination therapy proved to be an effective and safe option for managing neuropathic pain in real-life clinical practice.
