Thymosin alpha 1, also called thymalfasin, is a synthetic 28-amino-acid peptide identical to one first isolated from thymus tissue. It is an immunomodulator: it is thought to support T-cell maturation and function and to influence cytokine signalling, rather than act on a virus directly.
