Tablet contains palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) 300mg, quercetin 100mg, resveratrol 150mg, and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) 400IU. It is used to reduce the inflammation condition and disease progression in chronic kidney disease (CKD). Inflammation in CKD can be caused by oxidative stress, infection, uremic toxins, production of cytokines, nutritional state, etc. Palmitoylethanolamide inhibits inflammatory pathways and oxidative stress.

Product Description:

This tablet combines palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), quercetin, resveratrol and cholecalciferol. PEA is an endogenous fatty acid amide that the body produces in response to tissue stress; it acts partly through the nuclear receptor PPAR-alpha and dampens mast cell and glial activation, and it has been studied mainly in chronic and neuropathic pain. Quercetin and resveratrol are plant polyphenols with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity in laboratory studies. Vitamin D3 at 400 IU is a maintenance dose.

The formulation is positioned for chronic low-grade inflammation, including in chronic kidney disease. Clinical evidence for the combination itself is limited, and none of the components is an established treatment for slowing kidney disease; patients with CKD should not use it in place of prescribed therapy. Resveratrol and quercetin interact with drug-metabolising enzymes, which matters for patients on immunosuppressants or anticoagulants.

Sourcing notes. Classification varies: PEA is sold as a food for special medical purposes in Italy and as a supplement elsewhere, and regulators increasingly check whether each ingredient is permitted in supplements at the proposed dose. Micronised PEA is the usual grade because unmicronised PEA is poorly absorbed; the particle size should be specified. Claims made on the label need to fit the destination's supplement rules.
